Pilot

Editing has been finished!!! After a lot of effort from our cast, Ben, and I. After a lot of things went wrong that we had to make right. I proudly present to you the opening scene for Acceptance .

 We have officially finished filming for the film opening! Now, there's only editing left. While I served mainly as the director, Ben will perform as the main editor, sending me dailies of his work so we can review it together and properly bring to life our vision of the film. I have reviewed all the footage to make sure that there is no need for reshoots. Hopefully, the final product will agree. After our last session, our small cast and crew went out to eat some pizza :). It was such a great experience to work with such great people and actors!!!

Monday, March 6th - We finally finished the search for Matthew's mom. Our actors, Kris and Vanessa, were able to ask the theater teacher, Ms. Terl, if she would be available to film, and she agreed. Wednesday, March 8th - Some scheduling conflicts arose. As part of the Cooper City High School theater department, our actors have a competition next week, and they cannot film on Sunday, as planned. We have decided to move the second day of filming to next Sunday, March 19th. Friday, March 10th - Ben and I drove to BECON to pick up the boom mic. We tested it and it seems to work well. We also went shopping for a couple of props: the world globe and the frame for the photo. We ended up getting a box that says "Our adventure fund", which we thought was better and more fitting than a globe. Saturday, March 11th - Today, we spent the day filming. February 26th, 2023 The script has been finished (at least the first draft). I feel very satisfied and think it will work out. I have talked to a friend, Miles Regal, who is also a screenwriter and composer. He will help us compose original music for the short film. This process is very exciting. Can't wait to start shooting!

February 19th, 2023 Not a lot of progress has been made since our last blog. I've started writing the script and we have confirmed with Kris that we will be able to use his room as Matthew's bedroom for the opening scene. Filming dates are now set at: 03/11/2023 and 03/12/2023

Actors: We have cast two students from Cooper City High School's theater department, Kris Olinsky and Vanessa Arrocha, as our leads. We are still on the search for an adult who will play the mom. Costumes: Regular street clothes which the actors will pick themselves. Props: - Cell phones - Framed picture and award - Textbook - World globe - College acceptance/rejection letters Locations: - Matthew's bedroom (Kris' bedroom) - Natasha's bedroom (TBD) - Matthew's house (Santiago's living room) Scripts: A screenplay has not yet been written but we have outlined the opening. Equipment: - Sony A6500 camera - Tripod - Audio equipment from BECON.
